Fortune 500 Corporate Website: Cox Business Services Refer-A-Biz Program

Project Span: 2001-2005 The Situation: Cox Communications needed an efficient way for their business customers to refer companies for Cox’s Services. They needed an application that could request different kinds of information, first for the person who is submitting the lead, and second, the person being referred to CBS who would benefit from their services. Form validation was essential, to ensure reliable data was gathered. A secure backend to store these leads in an online archive was also needed. All of the leads needed to be able to be accessed, at any time, by all of the CBS markets.

The Solution: Our web experts created an online application that allows customers to post business referrals and store information in a backend database dynamically. The system is based off individual market zip codes, which determine the system and who should receive the lead via email. The backend supplies administrators with the total number of leads for each system, as well as storing who the lead was originally sent to, in order to prevent data loss and ensure a permanent backup of all referrals.
